Christmas in the Sky is an outdoor drone production and requires suitable flying conditions. If high winds, heavy rain or other unsuitable conditions prevent the show from safely operating on Friday or Saturday, the affected performance will be postponed to our designated backup date: Sunday 13th December 2026. Tickets will automatically remain valid for the Sunday performance and will not be refundable where the event proceeds on the advertised backup date. By booking, guests acknowledge the Sunday backup date as part of the event schedule and should ensure they are available to attend. Any postponement will be communicated as early as reasonably possible by email, website and social media. If the event cannot safely proceed on either the scheduled date or the backup date, our standard cancellation terms will apply.
Is Christmas in the Sky a drive-in event?
Yes. The event is exclusively drive-in and admission is only available to guests arriving in a vehicle. There is no pedestrian admission.
Can we watch from inside our car?
Yes. Watch from your vehicle, or use the space immediately alongside it within your allocated box. Park on the right, sit on the left.
Where will large vehicles park?
Large vans, minibuses, motorhomes and other oversized vehicles are automatically positioned towards the rear of the arena so they do not obstruct other guests. Exactly what qualifies as a large vehicle will be confirmed before tickets go on sale.
What are the VIP front three rows?
A very limited number of premium spaces in the front three rows, closest to the show. These are for standard vehicles only and cannot be booked for large vehicles. Register for priority access to hear about them first.
Do the fairground, food and bars stay open during the show?
No. The fairground, food vendors and bars close when the main story begins at 6:30pm, so everyone is back at their vehicle for the production and ready to leave afterwards without anyone being blocked in. Arrive early and make the most of them.
Can we leave before the show finishes?
No. Once parked within the arena, vehicles cannot leave until the main show has concluded. This is for traffic management and safety.
What time should we arrive?
The arena opens from 4pm. Arrive early to enjoy the Christmas fairground, food, drinks and entertainment before the 6:30pm show.
How long is the show?
The main production runs for approximately 25 minutes, with around two and a half hours of pre-show entertainment beforehand.
Is it suitable for young children?
Yes. Christmas in the Sky is a family event for all ages. The show features music, narration, bright lights and low-noise fireworks, so ear defenders may be sensible for very young children.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale at 11:00am on Tuesday 29 September. Join the WhatsApp community after you register and you will get access 30 minutes before anybody else. With two nights only and limited drive-in capacity, we expect both performances to sell out.
Where is Abingdon Airfield?
Abingdon Airfield is in Oxfordshire, a short drive from Oxford, Didcot, Wantage and Newbury. Detailed arrival routing is sent to ticket holders before the event.
